Both students and teachers can rejoice this week – we’ve made some major fixes and improvements that we think will have everyone applauding.
For students, we’ve listened to all your feedback and made some changes to the new player.
Let’s outline them.
1. Video Player Settings.
Hit these icons so you can set your microphone, share and change the auto pause setting. When auto advance is unchecked, the player will pause after each recorded line – so you can check your feedback and score.
The Teacher Tools
We’ve made some very basic but huge improvements to the teacher tools. Here they are (also get this announcement on your tools, just uncheck the announcement box and you’ll not see the notice again).
2. Upload a School Logo
We are setting up some high level school administration structures and the first part is giving a school it’s own icon and also allowing you to upload a logo that will appear on all school My Class pages. Further, share it online and be proud to have an EnglishCentral school! Here’s how it looks.
We have a recommended logo size and change/edit as you wish. Also, as I said, share on twitter and facebook!
2. Edit student names and give them an alias.
You can edit your student roster from the Manage – School page and give them an alias. It won’t change the way the student name appears on EnglishCentral but it will help you know who is who! Just click edit and type in the alias.
3. A school roster.
You can find a list of all your students and what classes they are in – in the school roster (School – Manage).
4. Edit/delete your My Class announcements
You can now edit your Class page announcements. Make an announcement on the My class page but if you don’t like it, just hit the edit button and delete. If you don’t have any messages, no announcement box will appear on your My Class page.
5. Just kidding – no more changes for the moment. But stay tuned for a big announcement as we launch “Courses”, our own online “textbook like” learning experience. You’ll love it. No book, just great content and functionality 24/7, online.
